Non-Candy Easter Baskets

This year, my husband and I decided we wanted to do a non candy Easter basket for our boys.  At first it seemed hard to come up with ideas to put in their baskets; however, after shopping with my sister, it seemed a lot easier.  We took my niece and nephew to Build-a-Bear and let them build an animal for their Easter presents.  She then secretly grabbed other accessories her kids asked for to add to their baskets.  On top of that, she was given gift cards at checkout that she also could add to their Build-a-Bear themed basket! I thought that was a great idea!  So my husband and I took the boys to make an animal; however, they already have their animals, but know they are an Easter present.  (Miscommunication between husband and me but that's ok because I got to think up other fun ideas to put in their baskets instead!)

For our seven year old, we made a sports basket.  He is at that age where he lives and breathes sports.  My husband recently handed over all his baseball and basketball cards from when he was a kid.  Our 7 year old loved them! Therefore, we decided to buy him some more for his Easter basket.  We also added a sports book in his basket.  And since we want the true meaning of Easter to remain in their hearts long after Easter, we added Favorite Bible Stories and Amazing Facts and A Bible Adventure Comic Book. (It's a 52 week Devotional for boys and very interesting.  I have already been reading it!) The 1 CD was thrown in because he did a program at his school all about the Beatles and loved singing their songs.

For our little one, we decided to make him a Bath Basket.  He loves taking a bath now, and we really don't have very many bath toys other than a few rubber ducks; therefore, I felt like this would be perfect for him.  Walmart had foam bath letters on sale; therefore, I got those for him.  I figured that would be a perfect way to teach him letters and sounds some day.  We got him a bottle of bubbles, a bath book, and a pack of bath toys.  And of course we added three Christian books to his basket along with a fun one about him and daddy!
