Faith Like a Child

Colossians 1:9-12

I just started reading a 15 minute devotional, trying to get back into the swing of things.  I have noticed the past few weeks, how amazing God is by the prayers He has been answering.  Just to name a few...Eli and I are trying to make it a habit to pray every morning on our way to summer camp.  Driving my car in the mornings has been a way for me to have quiet time with God before the work day starts.  Now with Eli in the car, I am trying not to let it distract me from praying so instead we pray out loud.  Last Wed we prayed for the rain to stop when we got to our field trip, as well as for the rain to hold up On Friday during our water day, and for no rain on Father's Day so that we could go swimming, and for no rain during the parade and God answered everyone of those prayers.  It stopped raining about 5 minutes after we got off the bus during our field trip, and it didn't rain on Father's day or Friday and it stopped right before the parade started on Saturday.
That's not even all, the day after my wedding, a bunch of us were crowded in Jason's parents cabin, looking at pictures from the wedding when a storm decided to blow through.  It became really windy and grew dark outside.  Eli naturally began getting scared with the rest of us trying to put our windows up in vehicles, taking things out of the back of the truck so it wouldn't get wet, etc.  Eli, remembering the time we prayed with Jason's mom during a really bad storm, decided to pray.  His words were, "Make the storm invisible."  And believe it or not, God answered his prayer, at that moment.  Somehow, we never saw the storm! Yes it rained a little, but God took the "storm" in Eli's eyes away and made it invisible.  It barely thundered or lightened.

What a blessing for Eli to see these prayers answered and the fact that we can talk about them made it even better!  Now it seems like any time, it rains or storms, Eli wants to pray to keep us safe! Even one day last week at summer camp, Eli stopped us from what we were doing and asked if we could pray.  His outlook on prayer has really encouraged me.  He has that faith that I wish I had, and here lately, I have gained because of all the small, sometimes silly but still answered prayers.  I can't get over how somehow, things work out even better than I planned or hoped for.  God is truly amazing and has proved himself to be faithful! Even everything leading up to our wedding and the wedding itself, God showed himself to be there and it was evident to both Jason and I everything that He did for us whether prayed for or not, God really did have his hand on our wedding and the days before and the days following.

One small example, was our pictures. When we arrived at our reception, we had no pictures of the two of us alone.  We both were a little upset with this and even a little worried we wouldn't get those shots; however, God gave us the chance to get those shots, and shots that we wouldn't have gotten if we would have had shots of the two us to began with.  We ended up getting beautiful pictures out on the dock with an amazing sunset...you can't tell me that wasn't God's timing!

Some people may say all this was a coincidence, but how can they?!?! Everything worked out according to HIS will and things will continue to work out according to his will whether it be a job for me, ministries we will become involved in, or something completely different that we don't expect.  Whatever it may be, I know God's hand is in control! I can't thank God enough for what He has been doing in my life and how He has used the faith of a child to strengthen my faith in HIM! If only we all could have that faith like a child again...just think what HE could do!!!!  If you haven't seen him working in your life, start writing down, those things you pray for and even if it's not exactly what you prayed for, you will see prayers answered in ways you never thought possible or that has ever occurred to you before.  I know things happened that I didn't exactly pray for or want, but I now can look back and see how everything worked out according to his perfect will and is still working out according to his will for my life and the lives of friends and family around me.

Come and seek My face

And heaven will rain Rivers of My grace overflowing
Night and day My ears will be open
If My people pray Now is the day to awaken
To pray with conviction
For the souls of the nation
So let us call on His name
Whose faithful promise still remains .." -Avalon

Another Wedding Blessing!

I can't believe how God is working everything out! I had another amazing thing happen today! I had some cavities filled today right before I went in, I prayed they wouldn't cost as much as I was expecting...when it was time to check out, I was told, "Happy Wedding Gift!" and didn't have to pay my half! Talk about an amazing blessing right before my wedding! I didn't know what to say other than thanks because I was about ready to cry...tears of joy of course, but just amazed how God is working everything out with finances here right before the wedding!
